How far north is ......safe ice
« on: Jan 15, 2006, 07:50 PM »
Well wsj was planning on taking his to adult boys out for a weekend ice trip, untill all the ice here turned bad.  Just how far north do you have to travel for some good ice?

Be careful out on the Pete, especially around Long View Point.  Ice may still be a little shaky in spots.

I'm right on Lake Pepin and most of the ice around here is good enough to fish. I wouldn't drive my 4 wheeler on it..but...

Way up here in Ashland we have around 12" on the bay and 6 or so on the inland waters.  It's really a drive up here though.
