Ice at Wamplers
« on: Jan 22, 2007, 11:04 AM »
Hi everyone, well it looking pretty good. Getting ready to head up to Lake Simsoe this weekend, but was wanting to know if anyone has a ice report for Wamplers Lake? Would like to get out for the night bite crappies.   Thanks for you help and tight lines!!!
I know we can't all stay here forever, so I want to write my words on the face of today. And then theyll paint it.  "Shannon Hoon"

Wamplers is in Brooklyn Michigan.
Look on a map in the area of 12, east of 127.

I'm hoping to go there for the first time on Wednesday. Any details about what type of fish are in this lake, depth, etc. would be appreciated.

oooohhh..i dont have a report then. lol. but what i can tell you is all the lakes in my neck of the woods except for the large (over 250 acre) lakes have at least 3 inches on them. i would imagine that there will be safe ice on pretty much every body of water by the end of this week.

its got some pretty good walleye fishing but it gets pressured quite a bit.

Vineyard is a WAY better lake down in that area.

Thanks for the feedback about Wamplers and VIneyard.

Right now it's a toss-up whether we go to the Irish HIlls area or the Waterloo area.

Either way, I'll be happy getting out on the ice with a hook in the water.

I would have to agree with Walleyechaser Vinyard is much better, less pressure and a better quality of fish. But if you want to fish Wamplers fish in front of Jerrys pub, its been good to me in the past. I had good luck in front of the boat launch at Vinyard for Crappies also.
