I heard that Strikemaster came out with a new hand auger.  It is called The 224.  It has four cutting blades. :o  Check out their website.

4 blades? Must be designed for use in Shanties (opening old holes). 2 blades cut faster so opening old holes is the only reason I can see for a 4 blade. I'll have to check out the site.

Esox, my bad it is a gas auger not a hand auger.

When you go to Strikemasters home page click on What's New.

I just looked at the webpage...yeah, it took me long enough. ::) It looks like that will be a good unit for people that fish mostly out of perminent shacks and for the guys that rent shanties. More blades help when re-opening holes....They don't tend to grab as much.

I heard that the CLAM Corp will be coming out with some improvements to the line of shanties this year.  Cant wait to see, even though I need another shanty like I need a hole in the head! ::)

I know that Clamcorp is coming out with an oversize 2 man flipover shanty called the Fishtrap Yukon.  Haven't seen any pics yet though.  Contact them via their website and ask for a catalog.  Frabill has some new shanties too - they look like bigger versions of the ultra-lite (no built in seating, in other words).  Other than that, don't know much.  Hope to God there is no Buzzstick 2!!!
