Was at Echo on Monday. Real hard going 4X4 is a must. Pasqua is worse!

Was at Sarnia on the weekend and several people were getting stuck including myself. Was very hard to see the drifts until sun came out. Not sure what anyone else was catching for fish but between 2 of us we didn't get a single bite in 2 days.

Went to triple T on saturday. You can get off the trails if you keep if pinned but youre probably gonna hit a 3ft rock hard drift and get buried eventually. I wasnt the only one shoveling myself out of one haha. Otherwise pretty limited to where the trails are even in a lifted 4x4.

Starting to wonder if i need to buy a set of chains for this winter. Doesnt sound like any of the southern lakes are any better, and the north is a complete write off for trucks.

Once your hung up even chains aren't  much help. BUT  they will allow you to go hard until you are Hung up.
Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

Definitely wouldnt have helped get out saturday. Was trying to break a turn around trail and buried myself in a drift sidways. Ended up being able to spin the truck 90 deg on the spot while roasting the tires and back out. But i might not have been keeping it quite as pinned with chains.

We lost a great MLA!

I’m referring to “Marvin Lee Aday” aka
“Meatloaf”. Saw him in Saskatoon about 20 years ago with my daughter who was about 20 then. It was supposed to be my wife and I going. (My close to 50 years now “Chum” absolutely adored the music and lyrics, not swooning over him necessarily, “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad.” But “Mom” was guilted into having our daughter go. And this “70 Year Old Determined Pike” wasn’t giving up his ticket. Haven’t listen to much of that “carefree days” music for years. In fact took my User Name for this site from another of Meatloaf’s great songs. “Paradise By The Dashboard Light”. In fact when he sang that song in S’toon, it was with his daughter. I thought that was twisted.
Nostalgia aah….
Anyway just wondering if all who have got on the ice at LML with all this snow could inform all us, “Hooking Junkies” the location and how those trail conditions are?
After all “I’d, (We’d) Do Anything For Love, (Of Fishing)”!
Take care and respect this God given mutual Paradise we all enjoy!

Meatloaf is what I'll be eating if I don't catch some fish soon. Getting tough to drive around and too old to walk far.

Anyone driving around Sarnia or white rock last few days? Can you access with a truck still, or is it ugly?

Also any info on Alice Beach/ Wee too access?

Was there yesterday, no problems in a truck but still watch out for deep spots
When I'm done drillin' - all that's left is an 8 inch wide, moist, dark hole that smells fishy......

And/or how much snow / how hard is it to get around on ice without getting stuck?

I was at Alice last weekend. You can get on and around some with a 4x4 and by staying in other people's ruts for some of it. There is some clean space but not a lot. Be careful or go in a lifted truck with good tires. My shack is parked there and I don't thing I can move it very far.

Is there any decent access on the north end of the LML right now? Etter's Beach, Triple T? Planning a day trip tomorrow from Saskatoon and trying to settle on a lake.

Wife is coming along so I gotta make it count. 😅

Triple t acces not bad,    as long as you have 4wd.     Just a little rutted at shoreline,     then pretty much drive any where after that.

I know access to spots can change from day to day, but, what's it like around Rowan's Ravine?
Can you still get out with a 4x4 or is it snow machine and walk on only now? :-\

Looking for that BIG BITE!
