I'm PRETTY sure I covered that during the build.  To make sure you just slip fit the spray bar and outlet tube in the bucket.  To facilitate the removal/cleaning of the filter material.  A couple unions and your in business.  Thankfully PVC is pretty cheap.

Filter is still going strong,  had a few cold night's where I put a heat lamp shining into the top of the filter to keep it thawed.

I'm in the process of building this thing. Can anyone give me the iggy on what size hole saw I need for the 3/4" coupler and the 1 1/4" coupler? Thanks.

When I did the build and posted it up I'm pretty sure I showed the hole saw I used.  I wanna say I used a 3/4" for the spray bar hole bc the couplers will extend over the hole and with the silicon it gives it a water tight seal.  The 1-1/4" I think it was a 1" as well.  To.be sure take the male end of the coupler and take a hole saw and slide it over the threads it should just slide over the threads, that will ensure a good tight seal once assembled.

A 1 1/4" hole saw fits over the threads on the 3/4" coupler. I am not sure how a 1" hole saw could make a hole large enough for the 1 1/4" coupler though.  ???

If you glued all your fitting together all you need to do is cut a slit all the way to the edge of the filter and you can pull them off your pipes.  Thats the way all your pond filters are they have a hole for the pipe then cut all the way to the edge to slip off the pipe and your good to go.....

I have a bilge pump and a 12v to 110 adapter.  Would that work the same as a pond pump?

it'll work, but for how long I don't know. As a bilge pump was never designed to run constantly like a pond pump.

Just wanted to say thanks FRESH-BAIT and tell you that this thread is still alive and well, helping die-hard bait trappers!  I finished my build today and all of these recommendations worked out flawlessly.  Built a shelf for the filter over the top of a cut-down 55 gal poly drum sitting upright.  Cheers and tight lines all.
