Casper - Sharpen Blades
« on: Feb 11, 2021, 07:44 PM »
Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone that was actually good at sharpening Eskimo shaver blades. I have a 10 inch auger and pathfinder's sandy ice has been a little hard on them. I was looking for some info on someone trustworthy that might be able to sharpen them and what it might cost me. Sounds like there might be a guy or two around town in Casper, WY from some of the guys I talked to while fishing out at the lake. However, they couldn't remember exactly where or who, etc....

Let me know if anyone has a name and number or any other information.

You might also try one of those carbide sharpeners.  I have used one on my Eskimo blades to touch them up, and they do work.  Not as sharp as new blades, but pretty good...

This is similar to the one I have.

A file will screw up shaver blades and change the angle of the blade. You might do ok on a set of Jiffy ripper blades with a file, provided it's a very fine cut file.
