I was busy loading garbage into my truck and was not paying much attention to the big lake at the bottom of the yard...lol....talk about missing the obvious! Anyhoo, i catch a glimpse and there it was....THE BACK OF OUR BAY IS STARTING TO ICE OVER!!!!....only a couple of weeks now till i walk down the lawn .....tie a rope round the spruce....inch my way out with the ice pics and a pdf and drill a couple holes!

Dud we had 70 degree weather here in michingan. WE GOT NOTHING......

I don't think its going to get cold here anytime soon. It may linger and no ICE WILL SHOW

68 degrees here in Columbus Ohio. Last week got me excited with a few nights in the low 30s. This is just going to delay it a few more weeks.

Hey vicious, too much computer time and not enough fishing. Try a PFD as it may be safer than the PDF you plan on bringing........hahaha

My heart started thumping and my hands are shaking from seeing that gloriouse site! Cold sweats like crazy! I think it will be at least a month untill we see ice like that around here!

Temps were in the 60s this past weekend hard to think about ice with weather like that, but pics like this sure do get the heart pumping for hardwater season

Yeah everytime i tell myself its starting to ice up it gets up to like 50 out

False start.

I was on the ice November 23rd last year, not this year i dont think. Only 2 weeks to go to hit that date and 14 day forcast its only going as low as minus 8 celcius at night, day temps all in low +.......first week of december i think now.

well at least the water has turned over up there. Last week we were pushing high 60s. The lakes won't turn over like that. Getting some cold nights but the daytime temps are terrible. Now there calling the remnents of this Hurricane/tropical depresion a Nor'Easter. It's going to be 50's with lows around 40!

we are getting a frost almost every day up here the lakes have got some shoreline shell ice every morning won't be long now

NAH, our ice is coming along slowly but surely.
I was just giving the Ontario guy's some grief.

I may even get out on the weekend if I'm lucky.

You put the boat away too early, I put mine to bed before I went on my Vacation in September.
It's usually -10 with ice forming by the time I return at the beginning of October, so I put it away the last week of August or the first week of September, then take off to Alaska for a month. This year I could have been boating until the third week of October. $:-\$
It's supposed to be above freezing here this weekend!!! That's insane!!! @#$%^ Global Warming!!!!!

Guess its all part of the plan...i think i just lost my job today....sooo.....shor ter ice season =l ess money spent, and i'll be too busy doing everything i cAN TO PAY THE BILLS TO FISH THIS SEASON ANYWAY NOW....!!!
