fishing 2/20 and 2/21

can't say i have ever fished 65 to 70 degrees in late february.  ice was 6" (lost 5) of half corn/black but quite soft

tried a bass pond, but they weren't biting at all.  the usual bait stealing perch and one good sized pickerel.  action slowed down late morning.  i figured i'd have more fun in the backyard with a cold one.  went home , 65 degrees 

2/21
figured the edges are shot where i was 2/20 so i went up the hill.  50 holes from the derby and other outings and not one nibble on the jig stick.
tilts were slow but i did manage 3 fish, bass, pickerel and finally a Brook Trout.
got very warm out on the ice so i headed home for a Habana cigar and bottle of wine in the backyard..73 degrees 

another frustrating ice year, nice early ice then spring heat in February

Not many people can say the ever went icefishing in 70 degree weather. 

The fact that you not only were able to go - - thanks to your recent retirement, but actually managed to catch something, is quite an accomplishment.

As for your closing comment, keep the faith.  It will get cold again, and we'll have more days on the ice.
