WOW what a cold front
« on: Jan 30, 2008, 04:44 AM »
Since I got up at 4am this morning, the temp's dropped from 52 degrees to 33.9.

That oughta kill the fishing for a couple of days.

It's suppose to go down into the teens tonight, so if you had a pretty good base of ice with snow on it this could only help. Not sure where you fish though. You are right, it is pretty CRAZY out right now.

I have been hunting or fishing almost everyday of my life. The rest have been wasted.

I hit the ice at 7am and it was 40 deg.
The fish were stuck to the bottom and there was no getting them up...I called it a day after 45 min. because I didn't want to play their game. I arrived home 20 min. later and when I backed into the driveway it started sleeting and then BANG, right into Snowing sideways at 45mph :%$#!:

The fish definately did not want to get out of bed this morning :P

Ya, we had some wicked thunder and lightning this morning around 8:00.  Scared the heck out of the dogs.  It was raining good most of the night and turned to snow just before the kids had to leave for school.

In Rochester, the wind has done a lot of damage.  The news showed a billboard that ripped off the top of and building and a roof that came off of a building.  The temp has dropped over 30 degrees since I got up this morning.  Like rgfixit said it was 53 when I got up.  It is not 20 degrees.  Hopefully the ice will make it.  I called my buddy on Conesus and he said the ice was fine in front of his house.  It was 2 - 3" the other day and it survived.  We could not have lost too much on the other lakes.
