That time of year...
« on: Feb 22, 2019, 09:52 PM »
Checked a front range pond last Sunday and it had 2.5” of good ice.  Cold all week.  Went back to fish it today.  2.49” of ice. Not good. Gonna fish somewhere Sunday.  Hike for little perch?  Search for schools of big perch?  Metro smallies?  Hit me up if you have something interesting in the works.

Well, haven't got my 30 trips in or anywhere close to that and even though the South Park ice is very thick this year, I probably don't have more than three or four more trips left in me for this season and even those will be very much temperature dependent. It's that time of year when a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of long line trolling for crappie and saugeye.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Only 20 for me, but I bet I've got 5 or 6 trips left in me. Depends if we get another hot bite somewhere  ;)
