It was clear off shore, but yeah it the rain was brutal for about 20 minutes back in the harbor.

But then it looked like this:

So I can’t complain.   ;D

You bet. Just like you were planning. So, which gave the better tug, the dorado or the tuna? Serving suggestions? Grilled? Sashimi? Ceviche? More porn please.
We're born, we live for a while, and then we die.  Sounds like a good reason to go ice fishing.

Stinky, the ahi was a better fight.  Both were amazing to eat!  I've had ahi poke, sashimi, grilled, macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, and fillets stuffed with crab...so all preparations are good.

Ok, I know this isn't ice fishing, but it's fish porn.  From a warm location.  So enjoy.   ;D
I've been working more on shore fishing the past few days.  Learning new techniques, learning where to cast and how to retrieve.  My favorite new rig is a simple grub rig, using Hawaiian Angler 2" grubs.  Reef fish love them.  Caught plenty of bluespotted cornetfish (Nūnū), and yesterday, I managed to land a small bluefin trevalley (ʻōmilu).  Today was an amazing experience, catching a beautiful surge wrasse (hou).  Beautiful colors.  Not even yellow perch compare.    ;)  All were released.  I'm also using a GoPro, so I'm going to have a movie edited eventually.
