I keep what I will eat. I used to be under the impression that releasing large walleyes would help with the population , however I recently learned that other than the rivers their natural mortality is near non existent. That being said there is more meat on the big ones.

I keep most of my legal amount. My entire family looks forward to what I bring home every outing. You can't get fish that fresh from any supermarket!

I keep fish because they are the necessary ingredient in fish cakes, which can be made with any fish species.  And grinding them up with a food processor makes quick work of Y-bones. We end up eating them well into summer by freezing them during the ice season.  Big fish, little fish; they all make good fish cakes.

No deer meet this year, need some fish to fill the void. Hopefully tomorrow produces.

I always intend on keeping some of my catch, almost always leave with nothing.  Out of the fish that are keepers, I always think of the others that won't catch that fish.  No deer this year either, so fish might fill the void nicely.  And they're so very tasty.

I keep my fair share, and throw back my fair share...  I'm not discriminate with what I keep for the most part- panfish, trout, bass, catfish, etc.

Usually just keep a few trout each year.  Hard to find good sized panfish anymore, used to always catch nice keeper sized gills as a kid.

i like to keep panfish through the ice.  they taste better.  i like to stock a few bags in the freezer but wont keep a whole limit. too much work at one time.  my friend and i could have kept full limits a few days ago but each took home 20 which totaled 4 bags of fish (small family dinner size bags)

If we get some nice sized panfish when I'm out on the ice with my sons, we'll take them home for dinner.  For some reason, the kids really love eating what they catch.

Ide rather eat fish from under the ice..I'll keep to eat, crappie, perch, walleye, a 24-26" northern(if there plentiful), and trout(best pike bait ever), ide rather put'em under a tip-up than eat them. Early on I will stock up on some smaller panfish to use for bait.  For instance, durring an ice season, I might keep one northern, and release 20 others...always would release a muskie or bowfin, but a walleye big enough to take a trout, is going home on the hood. If I got a carp through the ice,I'm might try to eat it. The Mexican guys I know say to barbecue them on a grill. Like ocean fish. So they say...

I won't keep anything we don't eat, but we do eat allot of fish, only pan fish caught thru the ice all others go back, I also agree that pickerel are some of the best tasting fish that come out of fresh water but I rarely keep any.

I fish all seasons.. usually dont keep. Try to have a fish fry once a year to get the family together. We will keep fish just prior for the event.

I got no smart phone. Just the basic flip. I keep most panfish over 9" . Some times I throw them back. Depends on my mood. I have never threw a keeper bass back. They are to tasty

I may keep 2-4 stocked trout in the spring and them I'm good on those for the year. Panfish on the other hand are a different story. I love me a nice mixed fish fry ;D ;D ;D
