If and you do abide by the rules of the pfbc, is it winter,spring, summer, and fall? Sorry for the confusion. I was tryin to see what seasons people kept fish. If at all?

When I'm fishing in any lake, I'm fishn for dinner. When I'm fishn in the rivers, I'm fishn for fun. Year round, legal crappie, perch and walley will be keepers. I might have gone fishing 15 times in 2015 and 10 of those were on the ice.

we target fish through the ice,thats when they taste best.i also target fish at the beach as salt water fish are yummy. im too busy spring summer fall so from first ice to last ice im in.its human nature to be jealous of others thats how the negative posts get started? i see ice shanty as a forum for both entertainment and education? we have a tough sport brutal weather any help is invaluable,personal attacks add nothing to this site and should be monitored by moderators and appropriate action taken.i'm taught to love my enemies and bless them

that isnt always easy

I keep almost nothing. People look at me like I'm NUTS when I throw back legal walleye, perch, panfish, etc haha. I do keep some carp and freeze them to use for pike bait...

I don't care who keeps what. I choose not to keep fish because I don't like to clean fish, and my wife would never touch one. As my son gets older, if he wants to eat some I will keep them then. I like letting them go to catch them another day.

On the ice I will keep up to 10 or 15 panfish. If I catch that many.
Don't like cleaning more than that. I jig mostly on the ice so that is what I normally catch.

I dont see why anyone gets upset if somebody wants to keep fish. As long as they are not poaching and abiding by the rules then who cares.

Keep them in the winter cause they taste great. Summer depends on species but most get thrown back.

I follow the rules, not worth the expense or hassle not to. As for keeping fish, I mostly ice fish but I generally keep what I catch as long as they're not trout, pickerel, and dinks when ever I'm fishing no matter what time of year it is.

I like to eat so that means I keep legal fishes I don't bluecoat and take em all I toss back just as much if not more. Spring I keep all
My eyes till the water gets above low 60's then I am just about done. The. It's hog hunting for the sausage grinder 😉 Just kidding don't eat them

I keep some pan fish fish when ice fishing and maybe spring or fall if the water is cool. Usually I tale two meals worth for my spouse and myself. That generally is eight 8-9 in gills, or 6 nice gills and a good crappie. Perch also get in there when available. My friend used to joke about my "four and "four"

Don't usually keep anything for the simple fact of I don't like fish. will keep white bass (wife likes these) and will keep walleye and perch (dad likes these) any time of year. heard that large mouth tastes good through ice so I will try one if I get a legal one this year

I keep enough for a few meals and a nice little fish fry. Not as much freezer space with deer and homemade Italian sausage this year.

I will keep some panfish and walleyes, everything else goes back. Fish also need to be a decent size, don't want the dinks

I keep quite a few throughout the year. Perch, crappie, trout, are in my top three favorite fish. I like catfish but haven't really went for them through the ice. With 5 kids who like fish, this beats buying it at the store. Plus, my kids LOVE eating what they catch.

If I'm in the cold all day and walking upwards 1/2 mile to the spot, I'm keeping the fish. Most of my freezer comes from ice fishing panfish and some walleye.

I don't usually keep fish in the summer and although tasty, I let the bass go.

I can never understand why guys don't keep pickerel. They are one of the best tasting fish in the water. I'll keep every legal one I catch. Ticks me off when I see guys through them in the woods, what a waste. I knew one guy that used to cut their gills and put them back down the whole. I don't fish with him any more.

I'll keep a few here and there, mostly winter time pan fish, Only 1 bass ever. To me after all the bread crumbs and hot sauce they all taste the same. I wonder how a Carp taste? Anyone ever eat a carp?

X2 on the pickeral. Never knew how tasty they were until a few years back a friend taught me how to clean them without getting any bones in the filets. They are delicious and just a couple big ones can put a nice meal on the table.

I like bringing home a few fish to eat. I wait until I have enough to invite my mom and dad, daughter and her friend , over for a nice fish fry. Mostly it will be perch but there are exceptions.
