We were on Lonetree this morning, heard & saw the ambulance as it went around the entire lake. Spoke to the Rangers as we were getting off at 10:00 (that's my fishing report :-(  . Who ever fell in got themselves out, not sure who called it in. Rangers were looking for the "spot" , we pointing them in the direction we thought it was, ice looked horrific coming out of Senac, between shore and the open water. Guess people will risk it to get to Slayers hot spot!

What people will do for a tiny perch! Yes tiny even if it's a 13 inch perch. No 13 inch of meat is worth it risking life. (This doesn't count when it comes to slayer) When slayer walks on water ice forms below him.

Well unless we travel somewhere else we are stuck with mostly ice fishing for several weeks.  The silver lining is its nice and warm while ice fishing this time of year!

Indeed, much fun was had!  Can't beat ice fishing in 40s and 50s, no coat required.  Plenty of ice where we were, just had to move around and find the solitary fish, or wait until they came through.  Sorry to hear about the people going through in the other location --- hope they are ok.  No fish is worth death.  Just use common sense and safety rules.

My biggest of the day went around 13" -- got a nice mix of 12"s and 11"s, and tacos last night!

So what do you do when you go through the ice after you get yourself out?

Like, i imagine stripping naked and rushing home for a warm shower.

i stick my arms into holes most times i go out, up to my shoulder some times, and that was is very cold.

i mean once you are out of the water , is there really an emergency?
