With the Rifle tourney cancelled, the wife wanted to go fish a lake her father took her to as a kid! So we hit up sweetwater hoping to catch a few Kokes. We got a bit of a late start and when we arrived the parking lot was full!
Managed to squeeze in... Once on the ice was had a hard locating any fish and those we did find simply would not bite! At one point we counted 68 people on the ice, which is a lot for the little lake!
A few were catching an occasional fish, but none seemed to do really good!
Over all my wife missed one bite, I caught 1 slimmer and a brook trout. It was pretty slow, but a neat lake!
Ice was 17" thick, some slouch on north edge. Fish all seemed to be suspended at 7 to 12 feet even the Kokes people were catching were that depth!
