Yeah that water does not look fun.  I'm mainly concerned about shore ice as the main ice is probably okay.  Maybe ill just take a ride after work and make the call when i get down there.  Thanks!

Johnny's hands down. Water on top is not as bad as it looks. Was just at Burtis and there is spots where it's high and dry. Pools of water look to be an inch so deep

for you guys looking for the eyes i normally don't do this but since i will be gone for 4 weeks and cant fish the ice tournament on the 18th Cedwell is the place to be in 35-38 ft of water is the ticket. For those of you that have the #11 jigging rapalas you will get the bigger pigs, you can't find or buy them anymore go get um boys little bit of a walk but sure worth it.

The ice is good on the lake.  Water not an issue as of 1/14/14.  Fished Burtis, had to work for the sunny's, but got some beauties.  Lots of small ones also.

I think were going to try Burtis for the first time on Saturday, Sounds like we can find some gills there, anybody know if they get into the perch there or would we need to go to deeper water to find them. Went out of Vikings a while back and got a limit of 7 1/2s but was just wondering about them in Burtis.  Thanks so much guys! (Not fishing the tourney either just looking for a little help)

was on Burtis this morning at eight am - wind at the time was gusting to about 14 mph from the south.   Tried three different areas and four choice of lures and baits without seeing a fish or feeling a tap.. Again it seems that south wind messes up there feeding habits, now that im home and checking the web cam sight I see the wind has shifted to the west.  Three hours later im noting again via the web cam for Burtis - setups that were near have left also.. Water on top of the ice has refrozen however i did wear ice creepers and glad i did... Good luck hope you do better then i did...

Does anybody get into numbers of perch, (I know there mostly all 7ish) at Burtis, were going Saturday and would like to get into the perch and some gills, or are we better off going midlake and deep for the perch , then head to burtis for gills after?  Any info would be great!

Jeff

Good call man, Burtis for gills and mid-lake and north for perch. Try off Long Point , Midway , and Mayville for perch.

Does anyone know if access is still permitted at Mission Meadows? I know that you can get ticketed for parking on the side of the road too early in the morning.  But, wasn't sure if access is still permitted down through Mission Meadows private property......any info appreciated, thanks!

heading down this wknd from hamburg for hopefully a nice bucket of perch. gonna start out at bemus ,usually do pretty well there. I see some concern about the walleye population, just a suggestion but maybe practice catch and release for a season or 2. or release all the bigger fish,i fish deep water on lake erie for walleye in the summer I release anything 8 lbs or better cause those are the breeders.

There is just a dusting of snow on top of some smooth ice. Cleats are not a must but I'd recommend them.
