I was there it was 3 years ago it was weird seeing trucks go by.I am just hoping I will to be able to get out there this year

I saw a green ranger on the ice at long point a few years ago, I pulled the front wheels of my subaru on the ice, but chickened out and walked instead. When I lived in NH I drove on the ice all the time.

we were at the belltower one day like you guys said probably 3 or 4 years ago and just happen to look over and there was an F150 like 100 yards from us. hahahaha was funny because my buddies dad is always freaked about even a wheeler so we took some pictures and sent um on. Then next thing you know he took off straight down the middle of the lake in a blizzard. hahahaha Haven't seen that since

Burtis still isn't looking that great. Drove by this afternoon but didn't get out on it. It may just be smooth but I don't like the look of it. Probably another rabbit hunting weekend.

Looks like fly fishing tomorrow, maybe if the wind dies down. Can't to head to Rinlander Wi next week. No problem driving on that ice.

I stopped by long point tonight. It was dark but from what I saw by the lights of the marina it looks like the open water starts before the end of the point. To make matters worse the wind is blowing the open water right on to the what ice there is. The forcast looks very windy both sat. and sun. Early next week looks like it may start to make some ice in the bays on the north end. I'll stick with my weekend plan of chasing beagles and fishing open water.

Tough to make ice with 3ft waves ! Just stopped at meadows rd in dewittville water up on the rd by the campers it will be awhile

Where are you getting the snow, I live less then a mile from Burtis and still have a couple of patches of grass in my yard. It is however 12 degrees and falling.

Saw some foot prints, but they didn't go out too far. Looks to be pretty locked up from Burtis to Lakewood, but I'm betting its pretty thin. There's was a lot if open water on Friday.

Guys, before asking about safe ice look up a post or two. NO safe ice yet. A guy went through at Burtis. I drove over to the lake and drove the loop. Saw where he went through at Burtis. No safe ice anywhere. period.
