I'm on the snow thrower thing.  Really.  I'll go out of prendergast straight and come back on the same path.  I figure if I tow the gas can behind me I wont run out in the middle.  D-vill might see my rath path maker also.  It'll take me till next monday to get back out that way but it'll get done.  I figure this idea will work better than the Nitro Pill Dispenser at every access point.

… two PLUS, thumbs up on that … !!!

I'm thinking Long Point and maybe Vikings.
Mayville has the snowmobile trail.

Just to wet for the snowblower.

thanks for trying  :)  I am one of those skinny guys, I break through once in a while all while watching my buddies tromp through every step,  looks like it sucks. Fished the   yesterday  snow/slush not too bad until out towards the middle of the lake saw quads and snowmobiles  out there  yesterday . Fish are there just way too well fed to really b e "on"  caught enough, but...

was in mayville yesterday and saw a guy by the old steam boat with a snowblower looked like he tried to come down on to the ice but i stopped watching him. the drag out of the boat lot or the lot across from red apple isnt to bad in the snowmobile trails. just dont go out from that park next to the steam boat. Drag out of there sucked as i learned.   The conditions didnt seem to keep people from having a good time there was a guy out there on the ice sunday puking his guts out while his buddies where laughin and giving him a good razzin

Maybe the puker did hit the hole. The fish at mayville were really off the bite today. The walk out was great compared to last week. I left at 2:00 and it had not rained all day.

I was fishing Mayville on Thursday at first light I was able to see a lot of crappie on the camera screen. I threw everything at them but the kitchen sink without any luck. As you know this time of year they are mainly night feeders. I am planning on trying it one night next week will let you know how it goes.

Almost December, snow is falling, and I've got hard water on the brain. Though I've been ice fishing over thirty years, and Chautauqua fishing over twenty, I have never ice fished this great lake. This will be my first time, and I just want to say thanks for all the info you guys have shared here. Especially when it comes to access, as I've only been around on a boat. I see there are many areas to ice fish that I normally don't hit from the boat, especially since I don't typically target pan fish in the summer. Though these past two years I've caught nice sized perch and bluegill, and I can't wait to find those thru the ice. Cannot wait, and hope to share more here. Great site!

Hey, did Happy Hooker Bait shop close down?  I heard some talk today at the creek about it...bummer if true.

I stopped in at Happy Hooker and spoke with Brian who said they would be opening soon, at the latest, before ice season.  Great to hear they will be back up soon.
