Successful first day
« on: Jan 21, 2012, 05:37 PM »
haven't had the time to travel to ice so today was my first day out. Wasn't going to let a little snow storm keep me off safe ice if I found it.

Hit up a North East trout lake and found 4-5 inches of black.

Was a good day overall.  Chased a lot of perch flags, all in the 11 to 12 inch range.

Then this guy made dinner.

Hope everyone else had a productive day on the ice.

Thanks guys.

Lenz, it's 400 Pound Monkey IPA from Left Hand Brewing Company.  They are a micro brew out of Colorado.  Highly recommend it if you like IPA's.

I think I know where you were if you got into the Browns. Little bit of a walk in there huh?

Joser, not where you're thinking.  Lake is typically rainbows and salmon.

fishingeek, no worries. we'll meet up again at some point.  This fish was weird/fun to catch. I caught him it on a trap and had the flag go up 3 times in about a 5 minute span.  Each time I checked the line nothing.  The third time the bait looked dead.   I had it near the hole, waited a moment an wham the brown struck the dead minnow with the line in my hands.   was the last flag of the day too.
