Title: where's the crappies?

where are crappies usually deep,cover,weeds,sand. i will catch a few when i'm perch fishin but wheni try to just catch crappies i can't find them.
i fish mitchell's bay and bass haven both in ont. ???

You can find them in all the areas that you mentioned.  I have found crappies as shallow as 6' and as deep as 35'.  What does the lakes you fish have for structure?

Crappies are fun to find. A tip that I learned a few years ago is that crappies suspend off of structure.  Crappies will move off a point or hump and will suspend over deeper water at the same depth as the structure. If you have a lake that is 25feet and a rock pile or hump that comes up about 15 feet, the crappies will suspend off the rock pile at the same depth as the hump. Although crappies will make runs on the point for food, most of their time is spent in suspension. Hope this helps.

i fish mitchelles bay but i haven't got a recient map yet so i'll have to look into that
