Upstate icemaster's hard water 08-09 UPDATED 02/10/09

Little upstate helping dad find the ICE .... 11/21/08

Little Upstate never saw clear black ice he just stood there amazed that he could see the bottom like we were ina boat

Then I took Mrs.Upstate out to our crappie spot for some Birthday icefishin.... 11/22/08



Then i decided to go to the POND


Then off too the DEAD SEA ....


.......



11/23/08 Headed out with coldbum in search of ICE up north ..... First stop .... Walked to the lake proceded to step out ................CRACK .................. Steped back to land and proceded due south where we knew there was ICE.....

First fish of 08-09 11/23/08

coldbum out on the hard stuff

Biggest of the day caught by coldbum... All together 7 fish iced ...with jig pole action and tip ups

Jiggin in the AM in november it dos'nt get any better than that
...
hopefully the snow wont kill my ICE.. and ill be able to post more pics throughout the week ..... Till then STAY ON TOP .....  UPSTATE ICEMASTER

Nice!! I was about to get out early this week but the snow is totally ruining what ice we had  :'(

 Thanks guys :) I am worried that the snow and rain that we have had is going to be too much for it though :%$#!: I am gonna hope that I can get on something tommarow morning for turkey day instead of spending it chasing deer...Ill post my findings later this evening or tommarow afternoon.... :tipup:

Way to go Upstate icemaster and all, nice pickerel to start off the ice fishing season. :tipup:

How thick was the ice?

I don't see much black ice in this area that often, usually there is some snow on it. Pretty neat to see the bottom like that, and possibly fish through the ice. 8)

 Its was 3.5" of clear black enjoyment ... you could see the bottom crystal clear ..... Was able to see some bait in the shallows and also was able to find some good structure that ive never seen before  :clap: I fished it this afternoon for like a half an hour or so ... there is 5-6" of slushy snow on it now .... I wish it didnt snow I love black ice fishing its truley like walkin on water  :tipup:

 Well decided to go and kill an hour or so today .... Little upstate with his first fish of the 08-09 season :tipup:.. I was drillin a hole when he started hootin & howliin :woot:



Then mrs.upstate was on em too :thumbsup:

 She also landed her first of the 08-09 season  :tipup:
Finally I was able to hook up

First perch of the 08-09  :tipup: I was a good short last minute trip ;D the ice was fine just slushy from the past storm.... The wind picked up and little upstate was getting cold
.... we landed a total of 7 perch with a few misses ... none the less it was a good way to spend the afternoon with family  :thumbsup:  :tipup: :tipup:    More to come till then     :tipup:STAY ON TOP & TIGHT LINES  :tipup:

 Made it out today for an hour or so.... just cause i was told there was NO ICE... I got to the spot and there was ice still  ;)2..... wet ice



so I tied off and out I went ...


Spuded a hole there was 2.5" clear black covered by 3" of white ice.... then it was time for some perch


... I got into a batch of dinks again 9 total :pinch: ....But it is better than sittin inside wishing I was fishin ....  :tipup: :tipup:

Well its been awhile since my last post .... work will do that to a person  :%$#!:   Well ive been busy with all of this snow this season so I havent been out nearly as much as needed  :%$#!: But I have managed to get out a few times here and there .....
... my first laker of the 08-09 season with a little help from the new VEX  :clap:
... I have only been laker fishing this season once so far  :pinch:... Have made it out a few time on the dead sea for some eyes ... havent been focusing on them so I only have a few pics of mrs. upstate with her first eye
... followed by another not even a minute apart  :clap:
... Time to chase some crappies  now :clap: so ill get back to posting more pics later this evening .......... ;)2
