I have just a regular pair of pliers for whatever may happen, but I keep one of these in my coat.

They work great for the small mouths of panfish, and that's almost exclusively what I target since we don't have good Walleye fishing where I live.   :'(

I usually buy and lose at least 3 pairs of hemostat’s a year but I have the buck knife splizzors. I had heard they were possibly going to discontinue them though.

I carry out hemos for the pike and use a panfish toothpick for getting small jigs out of panfish mouths.taking pliers to small jigs breaks the hooks alot.i use rapala stainless needle nose for my softwater fishing.steel pliers rust out fast.

Generic needle nose pliers at a buck or two apiece. I try to keep six or seven sets laying around. The important thing is to spray 'em with white silicone and give 'em a coat. I haven't found the need for surgeon's gear yet

I have a few hemo's but they don't work as well as the needle nose pliers. The only thing is the pliers can damage jigs so I gotta be careful.

X3, and I put electric heat shrink on the forceps tips so they don't damage my jigs.

X2.  Has all I need. Compact. I travel light.

It also is hefty enough to beat them on the head. ;)

I like the idea of using heat shrink.  May have to open the tackle box again and do this.  Love the Coldsnap Toothpicks.  Even found one that I thought I lost.
