Title: Winchester stumps
Post by: NCSnowDog on Jan 04, 2023, 08:38 AM
I’ve fished Winchester Lake a handful of times but I never fished the stumps area. How far back or where on the lake is the stump area? I would start from the boat launch obviously. Any info would be great guys. Thanks.

Made that hike a few times I should have packed extra tip up line so could respool after every flag that was snagged in every stump

Hahaha, there is much truth in this statement! I had the exact same experience. I've also been in there with a kayak a bunch of times and got my line snagged as well.

The stumps aren't only at the north end where many are well above water line, there are still some as you make your way south from there.  A lot are just below the surface.  Less or none near the boat launch.

There’s Open water still at north end of Winchester lake. Be careful out there.
