Snowmobile setup?
« on: Oct 20, 2016, 11:43 AM »
Newbie here.

I've been told that the setup is different if you want to run on trails, or in deeper powdery conditions.

What are the settings that should be adjusted for the varying conditions? I am assuming most of my time will not be on trail conditions, through it may be on hard ice (I hope!) or heavy snow on top of hard ice (I also hope!).

limiter strap in front suspension controls ski pressure and traction (less  ie; shorter better turning on hardpack  more ie; longer better traction less steering . Some sleds have a link to couple suspension ( weight transfer / traction ) depends on your snowmobile ? research your model most are not quickly adjustable except newer sleds some are utility sleds are different if they have articulated rear whole nother ball game
