Sad and happy at the same time  :'( ;D sad to see the ice leave but happy to get my boat out and get after some slob walleye and muskie gotta break in my new muskie rod! On the upside will have a good month of ice fishing left here ;D 8)!

The ice is turning to slush at a pretty good clip but it only means I'll be catching carp and suckers around the inlet as the ice receeds.  Then the perch will come up on the flats.  After that comes crappie season with some asparagas and morrel hunting thrown in.  Can't wait to hit the golf course.   Ah the rite of passage into spring .  I just hope I can get it all done before the trout season opener.

Luckily I bought myself a couple new open water rods and reels this winter, so Im ready to test them out.

I'm looking forward to spring kayak fishing!
There's always that transitional period between seasons when you don't wasnt to "give up the ghost" of the prior season, but there will ALWAYS be a point when you have to say "enough is enough" and move on.

Enough of my "Dr. Phil" impersonation. I don't want the season to end just yet, but we'll see what the weekend weather holds.....

i'm gonna be on the ice in april. time we were out we had to drill through 15+ inches of ice and we're still having below freezing nights.

Yup, I'm bummed about my ice season. My shack on wheels didn't leave my driveway all season do to ice and snow conditions and I only made it out with my portable twice. The good part is that we are expecting some bad flooding in the area and I do have two boats.  :o ;)
