I've been catching bait for a few weeks and I've been going through my gear, I also ordered some new stuff for this season. I'm almost ready, won't be long now!

Been playing with my gear every night. I'm building myself a larger sled from a refrigerator door panel with ski's. I keep skimming through here hoping to see theres safe ice starting to build.

When does your season usually kick off?
Usually mid to late December but we've had first ice as early as late Novermber and as late as mid January. Sometimes we only have a few weeks of good ice, sometimes we have a few months.

Other than getting the fx100 out of it's hiding place, opening it up to air out & check for rodent damage, I'm ready, going to rely on plastics real heavy this season, B & T shops
closing will make fresh, live bait really hard to come by

I usually just test all my equipment on a 'trial by fire' basis every year haha.  I looked at the forecast and judging by that and the fact that the shallow places are at the ice making temps...I'm guessing i'll be ice fishing late next week after work!!

been monitoring all the xmas sales and have stocked up on jigs, line and 2 new rods and reels.

Only have 1 day in the office left between telecommuting and days off, so will be organizing gear and building some dyi tip downs and auto fisherman starting tomorrow. Might also look into converting  my home depot cement tub sled into a smitty.
