If it ices up hard i might rent one of the lodge rooms or two and bring the entire fam... they can sled etc.... cant let the wife she looks better then i do and catches more fish....

Has anyone stayed at lodge yet...
Brother-in-law and sis stayed there for a weekend fishin getaway. ::) Nice.They have 2 bedroom suites that might work well for your family.Not cheap though.

On DCNR's website for Bald Eagle Park, under the winter activities section, it says about
630 acres of the lake are available for ice fishing.What about the rest of the lake.I don't get it ?????

The lake is drawn down quite a bit during the winter. Thus the lake shrinks in acreage.

Lot's of people fish it when that is gong on , you just have to be carefull your not around the creek channel , it get bad up around the beach area.

I went over to lake yesterday morn, ramp was clean, but a thin skin of ice all over lake, and  2 boats had came to launch, they were breaking ice as far as i could see them go through the fog!

They launched a the summer/ winter launch ramp, the ice is thicker at the Confer, and  lower greens.
