I have a Question. Not tryin' to piss anybody off cause I have listened to and played my share of southern rock/Allmans etc..What is the criteria to be TRUE REBEL.Don't you have to be born and raised or live below the Mason/Dixon line?I lived in Norfolk Virginia 4 years while stationed in the navy.I met a lot of real johnny rebs. And I don't know but I think if you live in PA. you are a yankee , unless transplanted from georgia or something.Someone enlighten me please.I've met a lot of Rebel flag flyin' wannabe rednecks in my home state of PA. that wished they were from Mississippi. If I remember right from history class,The Civil War was between the north and the south, and PA. was and still is in the north.

Well, I for one had a mother that was born and raised in Myrtle Grove Florida.
She has been deceased for a few years now. Through the years growing up, we spent alot of time down there with family.
We lived down there a couple times in my childhood as well. I always considered myself a Rebel. I loved my southern heritage
that I recieved from having my mom's blood in me. And love the southern values that were bestowed in me.
My mom was, perhaps one of the most loving individuals on the planet. And I know, the biggest part of that came from her
southern upbringing. In which, she instilled into her 3 sons...in which I'm the oldest. Through the years I've cherrished my
heritage more and more, especially after she died.
As far as the rest of the Rebels here on the chat. The majority have no ties to the south. But, appreciate the values and hospitality
the south has been known for over the years. And even though, you might not have the blood...it's where your heart is, is what counts
the most.
We do have a great time here on the Rebel Team Chat, and you as well as anyone else on the Shanty are more than invited to
join on in on the conversations. We're not always serious on this thread, as you could tell. So, don't take anything too serious.

I might add, that the Rebel Music thread is fun place to be too. 8)

I did an intership in Johnson Bayou, Louisiana and have been converted into the Rebel Lifestyle. Too bad if you're not there yet.
All that cajun food that you ate during your time down there, had to suck too. ;)2

Some may just enjoy joining in on the conversations on the Rebel Team Chat, and that's fine.
But, some of us are just hard core Rebels through and through! :flex:  But, like Wiredstone put it...our American history made us all Rebels. 8)
...When it's all said and done. We have a great time on this thread.

Sounds delicious, NS.
My grandparents made a ton of that great cajun cookin, and homemade hotsauce hotter then
hellfire!
I gotta try to get a hold a some of their old recipes.
I miss the gumbo, cracklin' bread, fresh blackeye'd peas an butterbeans,
fried rabbit and chicken. To name a few.
I do periodically fry my fish the way my grandparents did, in white cornmeal and spices.
Plus a panful of some delicious fried okra to go with it! 8)

I was thinking of doing something similiar myself.
They look real good. I think they would work very well, especially in a basin in a lake that doesn't have very many weeds.
...Besides as the winter goes on, the weeds definitely dissapate to a fraction of what they are in the summer.
Make sure to keep us posted, how well they work for you.

Good Fishin'....Ed aka SalmonRebel.
