Metro area next week
« on: Nov 26, 2018, 10:39 PM »
I’m from Ohio but coming up next week for work and I’m hoping to get out after work each day and on some ice. Is there any chance of this or should I not even bring my gear?
Thank you for any help.

It definitely depends on what part of the state you'll be staying in. A lot of the big lakes in the Metro aren't ready yet but most of the small ones seem to either be ready for those with safety equipment (~4") or close to ready.

I live in the west metro and we have had some folks out on the lakes here (smaller/shallower).  I would think you should be able to find some fishable ice while you are here.  Looks like highs in the teens starting Tuesday of next week with lows in the single digits.  I was out last week about 2 hours north and we had 5-8 inches where we were.  Not sure where you will be in the metro area but shoot me a PM if you think you'll be on the west side and I can give you a couple suggestions.
