Apparently, it worked.

It is a bear stone I carved this summer with some chisels that I bought.

Thanks for the help.

Neat picture! You need resize the image at postimage, when uploading, select thumbnail for forums then copy the direct link option to image then paste that in profile. Check your profile I set it up.

You have some talent! That carving is unreal.  @) How long does that take you?

Thank you for making it work.

Here are a couple other things I did for fun.

Gunflint - you have some serious talent.  That bear in the dark gray granite is really sweet!.  I like the chair and cupholder.  Centuries from now an archeologist is going to try and figure that one out and come up with an idea of what it was for - only to realize that its a chair and wine glass holder.

The wine was more for show. In general it is a beer.

I'm sure beer looks just as good in it as the wine.... :) Great looking bear

The bearstone in pink granite took me three days of on and off work. Only hit my hand once with the hammer  :woot:. The black one was my first and took a bit longer to get the hang of things and how to hammer/chisel, etc.

I bought the carbide chisels from Trow and Holden in Vermont. It is amazing how much difference it is to whack granite with carbide instead of steel.

Still, pretty neat to see.  Its a talent that not all are gifted with.  Many times I have looked at similar rocks, and not even thought of that.  You look at it and see the bear in there.  Cheers!
