Humminbird ICE 55

Just wondering if anyone out there uses a 'Bird ICE 55, and if they have issues with noise/interference from other units. A buddy has the same unit and we've changed the noise and all other settings, but it's still a nightmare to use. Even when someone is 100 feet away there is still interference, regardless of brand. Anyone else experience such a thing? Thanks -

dials out on about 3-5 on ir. ir goes up to 10.
