Can someone recommend a good ice chisel that can cut through three feet of ice without a major work out.  I have seen the Jiffy ice chisel and it looks quite reasonable.

icebigboy you took the words right out of my mouth on that response. Chisel 3' of ice, my aching back. Gas auger is the only way to go for that kind of ice.

I made mine. I took 1" round pipe, welded it to a 1/4" flatplate(steel, also 1/8" will work)sharpened the end like a chisel, first tested it out to make sure I had the correct angle, then I tempered it with the torch and a bucket of water, its easy to do.Then you just need to paint it.

Jiffy Mille Lacs is awesome but 3' is a long darn ways with a chisel.
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

3 feet x 5 traps = 15 feet Way too much ice!!! Been there, done that. Power auger is the only way to go......

When you do find one make sure it has a 7 foot handel so your not on your knee's at the end :D. I think I would give up this crazy sport if i had to do that.
