Think positive! Can't take much more disappointment. I've got out twice this year so far.

They're predicting a lot of snow for a Saturday afternoon into Sunday turning to rain here in North East PA. Thursday into Friday 1 to 3 in also. Not good for the ice. IWatch wnep-tv

Not looking to good, forecast from Accu Weather for this Wednesday thru Friday

And this Friday thru Sunday, hard to make good ice with a foot plus of snow sitting on top of it.

Oh what a difference a day makes with the forecast. Now I see the snowstorm you were talking about. I'm still going with the power of positivity and hoping it will be less than predicted. New rod and jigs will be here this week, and I'm ready to break them in.

.

Hey I noticed that your new on here and I don’t know if you’re new to icefishing as well but in a lot of places the ice is still not safe yet so if we get a lot of snow the snow will insulate it causing ice not to form. You need to be very careful out there because this is considered new ice even though it’s late January. Now if we had 8 to 10 inches of ice followed by a major snowstorm then  or only worry Or pain would be the drag.

I checked a little private spot in Lawrence County today.   I only got 3 inches of ice at most about 15 yards off the shoreline.   Last week this place had 1.5 inches to 2 inches of ice.   The ice was mostly clear but had about 1/2 inch of cloudy ice with lots of slush.   If we get tons of snow... things will not be shaping up well in Western PA.

Stay safe out there guys and hope the weather men continue to be terrible at predicting weather.
If only God would come down in the form of a man and explain everything to us.

Friggin weatherman finally had to be right. No dud where I'm at in crawford county. Got around 10" since I got home yesterday. That's gonna put a hurt on the 4" of good ice we had.

Back end of front might dump another pile of snow. Hope not. But it is blowing so maybe it keeps the snow off the ice🙏🏻So

Yep- I’m about 20 miles away and not as much snow on our local lake this morning than I expected.  Looks like areas of bare ice- maybe 50% covered and what snow is there does not look deep. If my daughters swim meet gets cancelled I will be out checking/fishing later!  ;)
Where's the FISH?!
