I have owned an otter sled and shelter for about 20 years and have always been very pleased with the equipment. I recently noticed that my Runners were getting pretty worn so I got on Otter's website in ordered a new hyfax kit for $39.99. I hit submit the order and then noticed that they applied $156 shipping charge to the order. Assuming it had to be a mistake I called Otter today but no such luck. According to them that is what it cost to ship 5 pieces of Teflon that are 46 in Long. After three phone calls which ultimately ended with a manager my only course of action is to refuse the delivery when it arrives and it will go back to Otter. I do have to pay a 15% restocking charge. I then ordered the same hyfax kit from another company in Minnesota and paid $6 in shipping. That is a load of crap that they are gouging people that bad with shipping costs. I don't believe I paid that much when I had the entire sled and shelter delivered. While their equipment may be good their customer service department leaves a lot be desired!

That’s ridiculous, thanks for the heads up!

Guess they'll get added to the don't buy from list, that's ridiculous.

That is terrible. I had really good customer service from them. They replaced my xt650 canvas for free when I had a zipper use with the door. For what it's worth I ordered the same kit from fishusa and the 2 day shipping was 26 bucks.

Where are you located? You didn't accidentally sign up for overnight shipping?

That's ridiculous, on a 7' one piece rod shipped in a tube I only paid an extra $8.00 for an oversized item.

I just went to their site and went through the motions for a hyfax kit. 93 dollars and change for shipping to the 603!
What a rip!
