Title: new to jigging help identify the rod
Post by: 00tjwrangler on Dec 18, 2013, 09:55 PM
So I'm new to jigging and I found this jigging pole  from my grandfather.  I caught 2 brown trout and a perch with it today so  I can't hang it up. But I want to know the era of this rod

Resize your pics to 120 x 120. Looks like it could be an old Normark Teho, possibly.

It does look to be a normark teho but I can't find the model. Its a wood handle with a trigger  that make it twitch. Plus the drag trigger

The 120 X 120 is the small Avatar size.

We would like to see those.  The standard size is 400 X 600 according to this link.   So, one more once.    ;)2

Ah, beautimus 00tj.   I'll just try to get it to full page on my 'puter.

Well, I can't seem to do that enlargement. And it appears we lost Rebless to slumber.

One last thing, please.    If you could enlarge it and test it, until it doesn't show a "side-scroll" bar at the bottom. That'll be nearly full screen.   I'll send this link to Rebelss, when he's up again he will then be able to see more detail.  He is an ACE at these older fishing items.

Wow, I just "previewed" what you just posted, much better.  The full screens will help a lot. It'd be nice if the flip side could be seen, too.

**snork**yawn**what???

Thanks for reposting the pics, 00tw. Yup, I would bet my Olsen's Herring that's a Normark Teho. I had a few in the late 60's-70's, as my Dad used to sell them, but they were already wood/plastic. Based on that, I'd have to guess pre-1960's, at least. Anyone have one out there?

I got one still I think they called them Trummin rods you just squeezed the lower grip to twitch the lure. The thumb lever was the spool brake or even used as a drag. One of the First European ice rods along with those Swisher rods from years back.

Rebelss It looks exactly like the Pic No plastic but a Wood handle red reel and built into the handle was the trigger if you will to Jiggle the bait. The rod blank if you will looks almost like a Zip tie on Roids with one wire loop for the tip top.  On the handle the words Burnt in to the wood say Normark ELO.  Like I said it is exactly what is pictured and I believe it would be from the 1970's or even earlier like the 60s Maybe the first Thrummin rod from Normark.
