Bad Day!!

Not a very good day...

Though not quite ice fishing, it sure felt like it with frozen fingers and cold toes. Jumped on a RI party boat yesterday for some much anticipated winter cod fishing. While other boats seemed to enjoy a good day, we had a horrible day. Very few cod. My 2 keepers were just about average, many guys with one, others with none. Pool fish was a whopping six pounds. We were literally HOUNDED by the dogfish all day. We caught dozens of them while they tangled and broke lines. What a PITA.

When I got home, the custom wrapped St. Croix ice rod that I waited a month for had been delivered. The pictures tell the story...

The rod builder seems like a stand up guy and has offered to replace the rod or give me a refund. I've emailed him several pictures which he is going to use while bringing the matter to USPS. I wasn't aware of any insurance on the package, but maybe it was in his shipping charges. I can't decipher the bar code on the shipping label.

Anyway, I've opted for a new rod, even though it may take several weeks. This season is all but shot, so at least I'll have a nice new rod for next year. Maybe it will be lucky!

I can't imagine them delivering it in that condition.  Someone should have talked with you about that one.  No fun to wait so long for something and have it turn out poorly.  The next one will be all that better.

I keep looking at that picture...it is like a car accident...I just cant look away.

How could someone just leave that without any sort of an explanation.  What the heck is wrong with this world?

Atleast the guys being solid about it and replacing it. I cant imagine how long/if ever it would take to get anything from USPS..
