Happy ground hog day! Happy birthday to my sister Joy! This pic was taken 3/2015 at Blue Lake, Churubusco, IN. Had some rain and snow melt couple days before this pic and maybe water got in this guy's burrow and woke him up. Little chuck looked real ruff and only had one eye. He would walk towards me if I got with in about 6 feet of him.
       Here in Indiana we are waiting for the ice to return.

My birthday is 2/2/55 and I agree with Phil that we are getting 6 more weeks of winter. It going down to 14F tonight is Sweet Valley, PA. The ice is back on the Moon, lake that is, and Mr Harris' Pond who also owns the Fish Com next door. I think I'm corked already. I hope everyone catches a big one this year. Heck, if you woke me from a sound sleep just to take pics and selfies with me, and tell everyone that because I saw "a" shadow (that you created) and blame me for 6 more weeks of a season I should be sleeping through UNDISTURBED, I'd bite you and then piss on you for added measure!

Thank you for this post.  Too many of the most meaningful holidays in this great country are being forgotten.
