i just bought a sled style flip over and i was looking to get a battery box as now i have a flasher also so i guess the real question is do i need a box for lights and flasher?

I have a simple box with not much more than the two posts to hook the lights up to. Keeps my extra battery dry and doubles as storage for my light. May not need the extra battery but it comes in handy

I use one from Ice Hole Power. They have a bunch of kits too if you're a diy guy

It here are some guys on here that build battery boxes, that have a million switches and cost more then a small quiet generator.
I run led rope lights in my two flip over shacks. In the flipovers, I just use the clam soft pack battery pack. Clip my lights on it, and a cig plug for accesories

No you won't need a battery box. your flasher will have it's own battery contained in the case it is mounted to. only way you would need a battery in your sled for a flasher is if you hook the flasher right to the sled even then you don't need a big battery or battery box. for lights you could go with some thing like the Clam dimmable light bar in the correct size for your house and run that off a 12 volt 9 ah flasher battery mounted to a Clam battery bracket which you will mount to the sled. here is the links for the light bar and battery bracket :

@Monticatgeek, will that dimmable light bar fit exactly in replacement for the light bar that came stock in my X200 Pro Thermal? Or can I add just the dimmer switch somehow? Love to be able to dim that light bar in the flip, especially when I use it for overnight camping.

I run a cheap 6 led flood fog light that's bright as can be.. got it on ebay for $16 ended out with four of them.. don't use all at once any how I use 2x 9 amp and one 6 amp in parallel and one of my 9 amp batteries is toast dead as can be. the 9 amp spade clip fell off the battery terminal.. so I was running only one 6 amp the other night for 6 hours stright on the fog light.. drawling also etc of minnows. if you mount it low in the shanty would be perfect for crappie? For fishing in a small tent ? Mount low so you dont cast shadows.. No need to starve the oxygen out with a lantren? . Ah or amp hours of the battery the amout of hours a battery will run.. now if the light etc drawls. 1 amp a hour that gives 9 hours of use.. fir a 9 amp battery. just get a plastic ammo can and mount a cig lighter plug in it and daisy Chain the batteries together in parallel.. or go to energized out doors and see if the lithum battries seem affrodable?

These 6 watt lights might be the way to go? for a small battery box they drawl aprox .5 amp a hour I got the 18 watt 6 cree led single fog lamp and I think it's to much light? The 18 watt drawls 1.5 amps a hour and drawls Way to much power and produces to much light.. any how do your research remember ohms ans watts laws like watts divided by volts equals amps ..

If your terminals are accessible on your flasher ..couple add on piggy back terminals some alligator clips and your light source is all you need . You could also hard wire it with a quick disconnect sytem too. My Vexilar Ultra case has post connections in the front just for that purpose . I have a made a bare bones battery box ..just an ammo box 12v SLA battery two posts and one accessory/cigarette plug . Money might be better spent with one higher amp hour lithium battery in your flasher pack and use that ..all in one ..less weight..takes up less overall space ..and only one battery to recharge at days end . It is nice at nite to light up the flip over with another battery as you hole hop with your flasher..so there are some drawbacks.

I built one 2-3 years ago. I think if you plan to fish after dark or just want a good power source they are the way to go. Yes you can use your flasher battery but with my house I have two rows of lights as well as my phone charger and I would hate to kill my flasher battery and be SOL. I also use mine year round for other things, pretty handy if you need a power source to charge your devices in the outdoors.

Last year I started using a 5’ Luminoodle with a 10000Mah USB power bank. I just drop the power bank in one of the mesh pockets of the flip over, and have 12hrs+ of light. Very simple, super light weigh, and easy way to charge my phone if necessary.
