Ice thickness
« on: Dec 08, 2018, 06:23 PM »
Has anyone drilled any holes out there today? I did at standing bear lake last night and it was 2” thick. Went there today at 4:30 and it was 3” thick. Only out about 6 ft. Anyone? Any info?

Fished 3.5-5” in mills county Iowa today. Be careful. There are thin spots.

Here's a link to the Nebraska Ice Map for 2018/19: https://www.google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1EzoZhQjAcZAvY9qiApAy-g8xwQZAIb6q&ll=41.22406163119358%2C-99.304516578125&z=7&fbclid=IwAR2oLVklGJ9jDOTE9unpZ9H2npiggFD7sUAxI34iSAu2bCywWknEnOUurS8

If you live in in the right part of the state, you might have hit 3 or 4 inches of ice. Other places you might not. A guy went in at Branched Oak the other day. Currently reports from anglers are just starting to filter in.

Be careful. Carry a spud, wear a life jacket and go with a buddy.

Went out today on a private farm pond and ice was pretty much at 4”. Caught 35 gills and a few bass to. Awesome to finally get to some ice fishing!
