Greatest thing to do when you have no snow on the ice is to just wear hockey skates.  No falling, pretty comfortable, and you get to your tipups in a hurry!!  only downfall....after a few frosty beverages skating can become quite the task.

Got some cheep creepers at wally world last night.  $1.25 a pair.  Good enough for the last ice.  By the way FYI they had flourocarbon line (sp?), jigging rods and jigs on clearance also. Geneseo Wally world.
