more auger help
« on: Feb 18, 2003, 08:27 PM »
i have a 7" jiffy auger mounted on a 2hp eskimo power head.

setup worked great until for some reason the auger just stopped cutting right.

get the auger running, hit the throttle, it just sits there spinning

the blade wont bite into the ice, unless you put your weight into it.

i followed the direction on the jiffy website for sharpening the blade and pilot point, and it helped a little, but i still have to put considerate weight on the auger, for it to bite into the ice

any help would be appreciated.

I have a jiffy and an eskimo and the auger rotations are different. yours may be different then mine. It sounds like the blade is bent. this will happen if you push to hard.

well, the rotations are the same, this is an older eskimo power head.

as for the blade being bent, i will try to find a replacement, and see how that works
thanks
