fishing this weekend

  well folks it looks like the weatherman has cooperated for ice fisherman in the province.  where is everyone headed this weekend? I think I will give the strap a try .  the best walleye fishing of the  ice season is ussually before christmas.  reports are that there is 7 inches of solid ice.

I am going to go to bradwell and the strap on saturday, and then go up north and fish for a few days. Mostly at anglen and weyakwin.

I'll probably try to get to Pelican Pte. Sunday if we don't get an s-load more snow.

I've never fished Blackstrap before but I used to live in Rosthern, and fished many other lakes up north, and some in the Wakaw area (for walleye).  Does Blackstrap have walleye?  I figured pike and perch for sure.  - I now live in Winnipeg.

The strap does have walleye, but i seem to have limited success catching them, only 6 all year last year.

hit waterhen today and caught a bunch of pike was only out for 2 hours or so maybe go again tommorow or sunday.

There's been a few guys out on mission the last week(or so I've been told) and some one said today there was a shack out across from the church at Lebret on the southwest side of the lake. I hope to get down this weekend to check out ice thickness. Has anyone else been down there? Good luck to everyone ---BE CAREFUL
