Unless we have a really good string of cold weather I wouldn’t be surprised if the HAWG  gets canceled again. As of the 24th it was frozen passed the boat ramp at bishops yet...

Just seen a post on Facebook that the ocean Derby is the 12, 13, and 14th so a Derby each weekend through January here shortly. See some of you out and about one of these weekends.

  Anyone hearing anything about the Hawg Derby? Last year I got tucked into a camping spot at Diabase early and put 5 nights camping fees in the slot only to have it canceled. Was still good fishin for some nice 'Bows but I wouldn't have got there so early if no derby.

If I was a betting man I’d say it’s on. IMO the ice around the marina blows but people have been fishing around most the lake from what I’ve heard. When I was there last week the Ice In the sweet water end was plenty good. Lake is super low they continue to release plenty of water. I fished alcova the same day and water
Was gushing out of the holes...

  Thanks Doz! Wonder what's goin on. Haven't heard of above average snowpack in the North Platte drainage. I've not been on Sweetwater arm for years but maybe that'll change this year.

There is some fantastic ice out at Pathfinder now with 11 to 20 inches out at Bishops and 11 at the Marina. Upcoming cold temperatures will help keep this ice safe for the Derby. So for those who were skeptical about the ice conditions for the Derby , it appears we have Mother Nature on our side and looks like it will be good to go on January 26th! Come join us!

I have been trying to find info on the boysen derby to no avail. Anyone know what the kid caregories are? What are the prizes? Cash? The facebook page has almost nothing on it and the flier posted on this thread gives only basic info.

Not sure what they are going to do for the kids this year it is usually trout or walleye and they get a trophy and some money if the win that one. Other than that they take the money from the entry fees and divide that up among the all the categories and give out 1st they 5th in the past years I have also seen them only give out to 4th place as well.

  Last year camping at Pathfinder was 10 bucks a night at developed campgrounds. Is it the same If I want to camp somewhat off the beaten path like Wolf Point or Canyon Creek? Thanks all! Hoping to make it again this year. Had a lot of fun and pretty good fishin last year and it sure wasn't crowded Looking forward to seeing y'all out there. Headed to Boysen tonight with a probable stop in Casper on the way up.

Just found out that no one donated for the kids stuff this year for the derby so nothing separate for the kids this year.
