Barometer planning
« on: Feb 19, 2017, 10:28 PM »
So since I have had some free time for the last couple days I went out and tried the barometer for fishing. And it holds true. Falling and low pressure is more fish in the bucket and high pressure is slim pickings. Lost an estimated 16"er to my transducer so I can't wait for the pressure to drop again. Has anyone notice this affecting their lake?

Plan to "test" the science on this when winter returns. Plan to use an app I downloaded to track the pressure and then rate the success rate that day. By end of season I hope to see data that either supports or debunks the idea.
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy fishing gear....and that's kind of the same thing.

Oh, if anyone knows of where actual data may be found on previous studies, please respond.

It sounds as though you may be doing the first study of some value.
Good science considers all data so, here's a few links, hopefully helpful.

              Click it.

              This one too.

Your finished product may be exceptionally palatable by the inclusion of data found at the next (and last) link.    ;)2

              Good luck.

Don't forget to spit on the hook.

That's my intention too. Last year I plotted the sunlight level as well as the time of day when fishing was best. I found that both could be good, but with bright sun the best fishing occurred later in the day.
