I'm looking at the Zercom flasher. I know that they make a good LCD unit, with lots of power, and resilution. It's a couple bucks cheaper than the FL-8. Still got to wait for that LOTTERY TICKET thow.

hello , went to cabelas to look at vexilars fl-8 . they told me
they quit handling vexilars , because cabelas put them in a
soft pack,or a bag made of canvas. also put the cabelas
lable on the bag. well vexilar did not approve of this and pulled
them from cabelas shelfs. the only one they had was a
mar cum lx-3,but they were 400.00. a nother 100.00 more
than fl-8. i found them at the pilgrim village bait shop,
cadillac mich . 300.00 . good luck big-mean

if your serious about ice fishing try and get the fl-18. it is well worth the extra 100 bucks or so. if you fisih more than 10 feet of water the split screen helps big time. you can see your jigging much better in deeper water and tell the difference between the bottoom and fish. in the deeper water ;D

YEah but if your money situation is tight I would go with a simple Eage/Lowrance lcr for around $125 water ready. I can set mine up to see my size 14 jigs in 20 foot of water and see the fish coming to get them too. and it is a lot cheaper too.

If you're in the area, I know of a few places in Des Moines that have both models on their shelves still.
