Just got back from Loomis, had a pretty descent start to the evening 15" walleye, and 12 crappies, then the winds picked up and I packed up!! There was 6-7" of ice off the beach area where I was fishing, and the slush was starting to harden up. I'll be back on it tomorrow!! C-ya. Crappie Rob.

Got out on Loomis for the evening bite and it was pretty steady. The edges are melted but you can get on by the dock on the beach. I fished the bay by the boat launch tonight and caught several crappie and one very nice bluegill. All on spikes. All the slush was frozen. I'm amazed at how well the ice survived all the rain. Just be careful on the edges.

My buddy went last night and caught 15 crappies and a couple of gills.  He said he fished from about 4:30 to 9:00pm.  Caught em in the usual crappie bay in about 17 FOW.  Hope this helps and tear em up!

I was out on Loomis again today and I think the ice is around 9inches!! I'm tired out!!!!LOL!!! I cut a hole in the middle to try to jig for some eyes. I was using a Swedish Pimple with a minnow head on it. The water was 45 ft deep in that area. First time I'd had to use the 4x scale on the vex. No takers. There was a school of something suspended at about 10ft. Couldn't get them to bite either. I also set out two tip ups with bass shiners with no luck, one in 15 feet and the other was closer to some brush in about 8ft. Tried jigging those holes for gills and crappie too but no luck. Got tired of drilling and headed out. I was out there about 7:30am-11am.

A BAD DAY OF FISHING ALWAYS BEATS A GOOD DAY AT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Got out on Loomis yesterday too and couldn't find them. Started out from the beach in about 10 ft of water. Then went to the east end and then back to crappie cove. Only caught a couple gills on spikes but did pick up one small northern on my tip up. Where are the fish hiding? I talked to several people and they weren't doing well either.

Got out on Loomis from 8-2 today. Caught a few gills and a couple keepers. Probably 8 inches of lake effect snow on the ice, challenging to pull your stuff. I fished in crappie cove  but also tried some of on the east end. Ended up fishing near the beach too for a bit. Ran into someone who had caught a keeper eye. Still looking for mine!!
