Went to the N. channel at Wawasee this afternoon and managed a dozen crappies with Slabgill.  Caught about 300 3-4 inch gills too, but no keeps.  Ice was 6-7 inches but came up in chunks and not shavings.  One more warm day or sunny day and that ice will not hold anyone anymore.  Saw 4 shantys on the big lake out by the coon rod hole.  Not sure if I would have tried that on the lake.

All in all a great year on the ice.  Lots of fish and lots of memories and stayed dry!!!

Stay safe out there, I can't believe there are many places still fishable after seeing how much ice was lost on the channel this week.

That's it...It's over.....I'm officially done...Not a bad year at all, lots of big gills and a few crappies and a few bigger perch..If anyone is still fishing be safe out there its getting pretty ugly.

i tabbed out last night......great year ,caught some great fish and met some great people!!

will still be around the site for a month or so......but in waders and walleyes!!

I fished yesterday, had a great day! The deep freeze is full had the best year on the ice ever. Now its time to hit the steelhead.Hope everyone has a good soft water season, I really enjoyed the discussions here at the shanty thanks everybody. Pete

Caught one hell of a crappie and quite a few dink gills........... Nothing to be proud of though. Went north instead this morning......

Was on Clear today and there was a guy on a four wheeler out there.  Today was the end for me also.  Did manage a bunch of cleaner perch but no keepers.

I just put the vex on the shelf for the summer. I was going to hit it one last time sunday but I got a little drunk saturday mama was not very happy when i walked in. I went to a stag party did not get in till around 3a.m.
