Never caught one through the ice, but I don't try for them in either soft or hard water.  Caught a couple slightly over 8lbs on Erie in open water with my grand father many years ago, but that is not big at all for erie.  Get some smaller ones 16-22" in the St. Joe on occassion when fishing for bass.  Did catch one about 26" out of Magician lake in Michigan during a bass tournament that went about 6lbs.

I would say you've caught one through the ice.  ;) That was a team effort if I've ever seen one.

The one in my avatar is 9lb 4oz and 28.5" through the ice. We don't target them, but sometimes you're just in the right place at the right time like me, wax_worm and Slabgill

The one I'm holding in my pic.  7lbs  Pine lake.    I also got one about that big on Leech lake in MN.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Since high school the vision in my right eye has deteriorated some so I have become left eye dominate. Therefore my personal best eye would be my left one.

As for walleyes caught:

Ice=24"

Open water=24"

Out of state =24"

I've caught over a half dozen two footers, just can't break that mark! ???
Photobucket can suck it

Haven't got one through the ice anywhere but my best Indiana Eye is 23" and my best out of state is 27" from the Maumee River.  I really hope I can change that this year.

Now ive been threatening to post pictures, but its the most frustrating in the world to figure out! A couple friends tryed to explain it to me over the phone but some people just never get it, I'll keep trying

Ye musbt b dumm lik mea...lol  Walleye don't take it the wrong way- I haven't mastered this delima yet either. Hopefully, this hard season I will figure it out. I think by using my wifes 35 mil. camera it is easier than transfering pics from cell phone . Time will tell.

Al, WalleyePac,

It is simple.

1.  Open photobucket acount...free and easy.  www.photobucket.com
2.  Once online in photobucket, go to user settings and the mobile tab and copy down the mobile upload address that is shown.  Save this address in your phone as a contact
3.  Take pic with phone
4.  Text or email pic from phone to the contract address mentioned in #2 above
5.  Go to photobucket and in your albums you should see the pic you just sent.  It might be in your mobile album
6. Hover cursor over pic and you will see a sproket or gear like icon appear in the upper right of the pic.   Hover cursor over it and click 'share media'
7.  Click the LINKS tab in the box that opens
8.  Click the img code at the bottom of the window and it will copy it for you.
9.  Come to ice shanty and paste the link into a post like this

Once set up it takes under a minute to take a pic, send it, get the link from photobucket and paste it here.

Wow, you slaughtered those gills. Congrats. I remember last time I was posting on photobucket, seems like many of the steps were duplicated a couple times. I don't remember what I was doing but, it took much, much longer than 1 minute to post the pics. I will have to start new and try again, maybe...

Now that picture was from a good day.  I'd like to see a picture like that of our 3 combined limits of fish from the ice this year.  If no ice I guess we can still get a picture like that from the boat

We would have had alot more than that if Slabgill wasnt working on practicing his cannonball splash all day.  I think he spooked all the fish.  You saw the beer can in the picture.  Crazy things happen when ole Slabgill starts drinking at sunrise:30 :nono:
