How big do the ling get in there?  Fishing slows at ocean as the year progresses?
The ling get pretty big i think. ive caught 32+ inchers in there. The fishing slows for me after the first of the year every year. don't know why. ???

I have found pretty much the same thing, slow after the first of the year.  Some years though it will pick back up on late ice.

I fished out from long point this weekend and got into the wallys while pluggin away a chubby darters and 1.5" tube jigs. The biggest went a hair over 4#. Good luck to anyone who heads out this weekend. From the sounds of it, there ought to be a large concentration of fisherman out there.

The red ice shanty on the ice is pretty generic. Kind of like the white house on the north end of town. Farmer, look for the U. S. flag.

Rumdrinker- if you have time copy me off the latest version of lake maps and the rhino software. I am still in the dinosauer age with my maps etc. Just keep this in mind--no maps and software--no holes... Your choice..

I am heading out that way from South Dakota today, and hope to get a day of fishing in at Ocean.  If ya'll don't mind a fellow fishing junky from out of state sharing a little piece of ice with ya, come over and say hello.  I will probably be by myself, will be driving a green subaru with SD plates, and wearing carhart bibs, with an old green camo parka.  Can you use credit/debit cards at the bait shops on the lake? or is it cash only?  also i am not exactly sure where the bait shops are located on the lake, so some help will be appreciated there.  I plan on fishing south of longs pt, if there is any room.

Gatenbein  :'( :'( :'( only takes cash. all his info should be in the info thread. mapquest should get ya to his place if you don't have gps in your truck. if you'll let me know when you're headed out, i might be able to meet ya and show ya his place. $5/doz. for shiners. and just because you are from out of state dosn't mean anything as far as i'm concerned. you are welcome here. see ya soon.!
