NOTCLAMOUTDOORS  welcome to Ice Shanty enjoy this website lots of information and gear opinions found with in it's various forums. Thank you for the video link i see Ion has increased the amp hours for battery by 1 amp hour and decided to use synthetic flights over what i assume is an aluminium core or other lightweight  metal core tube for the auger shaft.

Pretty sweet is putting it mildly.
17 pounds, hopefully for the 8".
The company "Ardisam" also is Eskimo which is now showing their 2019 model 8" Pistol with a center point.
The Ion flites look like the pistol flites but colored green.

They have lost huge market share here in Canada. Strikemaster was selling 10-1 against the ions.

At that price it's going to be hard to compete against the cordless drill set ups.

Cant believe prices on new augers that come out,yeah its new tech and model but still just cut a hole in the ice.now make a laser type hole cutter like a light saber with no auger or blades and that tech would be worthy of the  high prices on augers these days.im sticking with my ridgid and mora.even tho the augers out with pilot points are great they are not worth the coin.jmo
